I have never had BRP give up on a unit.

They told me once that they would give up on the dealer before they would give up on the machine.

We had a 2009 GTXis Limited that we did over $15,000 in repairs to due to another dealership not following thru with a complete PDI.

The units exhaust hose blew off of the outlet when he was 2 miles off shore, needless to say a HUGE recovery bill and his machine was in need of EVERYTHING.

So I do not believe there is a (break-point) for BRP, unless you can provide written documentation that the unit is not sea-worhty.

At least that is my take on the topic.

I had a Yamaha that had way too many problems and the dealer could see it was not being abused.

Finally, while still under warranty in year 1, I got the call from the dealer and then I contacted Yamaha. "There is no more we can do with this craft."

Really? Well...uh...

Ok, then give me a new one. "We don't do that."

Ok, then give me a loaner while your "sharpshooter specialist" (their words) tears it down and rebuilds the motor. "We don't do that."

Ok, then refund my money. "We don't do that."

Well I don't understand. I bought a new watercraft with a warranty saying you would stand behind the craft for one year for all parts and labor. "I'm sorry sir, we've done all we can. There is no more we can do."

So I started a lemon law lawsuit (I hate lawsuits) and very quickly everyone was on board. Result: Full refund less atty's fees.

It's sad I had to pursue this route, but I was even sadder when I was out $9,000 and had a new, disabled watercraft.

Good luck.

Does anyone know what the price break-point is on a SD warrenty? What I mean is what is the number ($) spent by SD on a warrenty before they just finally replace the ski?

I work in the automotive field (engineering) so I am over-critical on parts (just warrentied a Fuel Tank Strap today) and their expected lifespan and performance.

Being my last SD had some major issues and cost me 2 arms & 1 leg before I finally traded it in and bought a new one. I sucked it up and bought the extended 5 year 'bumper-to-bumper' warrenty. Exploited last year's sale that only cost me $250 for it. 2010 GTX 155 (not a Wake model but the add-ons make it pretty close to one now) that was left over from the year before.

Since then I have replaced:
The seat (stitching coming apart)
Floor mats (standard ones are garbage anyways and most end up getting replaced)
Ski Mode module (bad unit)
Tow Post (extended post snapped off and went for a swim)
Start/Stop switch/button
Cluster (the beeper part died and wouldn't 'double beep' when you put the key on the DESS post but it would still start)
DESS Post Recall notice (owners having issues with seating the key on the post and getting proper contact)
Right Rear Access (Battery) Cover (warped)
Hood Shocker Absorber End Pins (both snapped when the tech opened the hood 1X)

The SD certified shop (owner and service manager both) mentioned that there is a break-point where SD will just contact me and say "Enough is enough" but I was wondering if anyone could provide any more details or experiances with something similiar?
