Thx Steve, no seadoo dealers here in northwest AR, where do I find a carb kit to fix this issue, trying to get done before Thur(07/12) and starting to get nervous? Also, have had prop and shaft out last month and didnt appear to have any damage, will go back and look at the wear ring unless any additional ideas here today, thx Curtis.

THX 1Aquaholic, could have thousands of hours on this ski :)...only maintenence that I'm aware of is I took it to the local marina and had it serviced only to find out it had NO compression in one of two cylinders, had it repaired and serviced at the time and have been trying to launch it ever since, only to pi@@ wife off when it only runs an hour at a time before we load it and take it back home for yet another mechanical "issue" :( saddened in Cassville MO. Welcome to Sea-doo.net Curtis.
As for the 2nd post: "Also, when taking off it "spins" out like a car with a bad transmission". This is an indication you need a new wear ring and possibly an impellar. Use the board search on the left of this website and read up on "wear rings".

As for the 1st post, I can't help you on that one, but i'm sure others will chime in shortly.

How many hours are on the 99 GSX? And has any maintenance been performed on a regular basis?

Also, when taking off it "spins" out like a car with a bad transmission. If you baby it you can get it up to speed and it acts fine. but, at take off, and not every time, it acts like the trim is all the way up, however it is not, just races the RPM's and doesnt gain any momentum. thx again Curtis.

Against my better judgement we bought two skis on Craigslist. We have been "gathering" them ever since, trying to make them lake ready for vacation. We took out the 99 gsx on the 4th of July. After it gets warm it is very hard to start. The only way I can get it to start is to keep the throttle wide open and also have to crank the starter several seconds (30 at best) before it fires up, almost acts flooded. When it does fire, because of being at full throttle it takes off to fast, and is dangerous for riders in my opinion...not very tech savy here, but all comments appreciated, Thx, Curtis in MO.
