Glenn and Connie I hope that you received a copy of Prorider magazine. We had a great article written about the event on page 15 including mentioning you as one of the sponsors. Thanks again for the support and I am really looking forward to next year. If you didn't receive a copy please let me know I am going to try and scan it in my computer for future events.

This was a very fun event to do, I didn't know what to expect and told a few people before the event that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it because I will be working. That was so far from the truth. I arrived Friday early to get set up and get all the prizes ready with Ken M. Friday night we registered over half of the poker run contestants and handed out the scavenger hunt paperwork and everyone seemed to enjoy getting to know the hotel and answering the questions. I was honored to meet Mikey Young, Will from Jet Boat Pilot, Derek from Jettribe and some of the other dealers and vendors we had participating. All of them were so incredibly supportive and generous. After all of the business was accomplished we headed out to the pool and hung out with everyone for a great time.

Saturday I tried to arrive as early as possible but it seems everyone else was way more anxious to get started. Ken M. managed to get all the rest of the riders registered. We had the riders meeting before the poker run and were able to get everyone started early. We staggered the starting for each flight groups and that seemed to work very well with a few getting mixed together. Break downs were the only minor problems with the poker run which with that many skis is hard to avoid. While we waited for the riders to return, unfortunately I was called to help with a ski that needed a tow at the furthest stop. I can't say how the dealing went except that Terry Hobbs was very stingy with the good hands. We planned a little different style of dealing where we would put up to five people at the table at one time and they would compete for a prize that was donated by Watercraft Superstore. The best hand at each table would take the prize so we were able to give many more prizes away during the poker run besides the top five hands overall. After the poker hands were settled we registered the riders for the slalom course (not a slalom according to Mikey which he is right). We had to wait for the demos to finish up, which I was imformed was a new record for the number of demo rides taken in a day. The slalom race was another fun successful event. We recorded the times and the top three finishers were to be awarded prizes Saturday night. Upon completion of the day we all as quickly as possible cleaned ourselves up stuffed our faces and returned for the prize award party, and what a party it was. The smiles were everywhere and it wasn't just because of the cash bar.

Sunday we had the 2 rides heading out and both left around 11 am. Mikey Young had set up again to entertain everyone at the demo rides and the people visiting the vendor booths. It was kind of funny, it was like you could tell it was the beginning of riding season. Most people seemed worn out from Saturday riding and partying. We had small groups for the rides but still pretty good weather. It had started to be a little windy so there was more chop. My ride headed up the gulf into John's Pass and ate at Hooter's. We rode to the sandbar to sit and let our food settle before we headed north to McDonald's for Sundaes and McFlurries. The ride back was uneventful and we headed staight to the boat ramp where we loaded them up and parted ways.

I really can't thank everyone enough for the way this event worked out and hopefully Ken M. will tally up the totals and it will be a great number. Till next time everyone be safe and I hope to see you on the water.

Just to let everyone know what type of prizes we will have at the event;

Poker run 1st place is your choice of the 2 scooters from Cycle Springs
2nd place is a free weekend stay at the Marriott Sand Key
3rd place is a $200 gift certificate from the Watercraft Superstore

The raffle and surprise giveaways will have more prizes than I can list but will include gift certificates from Watercraft Superstore and PPG. It will also include items from Jager, Seadoo forum, Sun Bum, Sea Specs, AO coolers, Bart's Watersports and even subscription to Pro Rider Magazine. We also have many pairs of Mens and Womens Board shorts as well as lifevests.

The silent auction has really great items going to the highest bidder and remember all the proceeds are going to the charity so bid away. The items up for bid include a weekend stay at the Sheraton Sand Key with a day rental for 2 paddle boards or a kayak from Watersports West in Largo, 2 night stay at the Tradewinds Sandpiper, cooler rack from Kool PWC Stuff with a soft side cooler from AO Coolers, Seminole Powersports Service and logo shirts, 2 night stay at the Magnuson for a future visit.

I am sorry to any vendors that I have missed but as you can see there are plenty of opportunities to win a prize so make sure you don't miss the event.

I am not sure if what hotel is available nearby but you can do a search on hotels.com. There was one room available as of Friday so try the hotel.

Event is open to everyone, right. I volunteer at Give Kids the World and heard about the event while I was there. Never been on one of these so don't to expect or prepare for.

If the hotel is sold out, is there another recommended hotel close by?

 mirror posted: 4/17/2012 4:44:51 PM

I believe everyone knows about the event and now is the time if you haven't already purchased your tickets for the event do it now at www.jetskibash.com. We have sold out the hotel for Saturday night so we are where we wanted to be. Friday night we will be signing people in and handing out the armbands for the event. We will also be having the first contest in our scavenger hunt. Everyone can join in that have purchased a ticket for the event you don't have to be staying at the hotel. Please arrive early enough to enjoy this event which will be held between 6 - 9 pm Friday.

Saturday wake up early and be ready for the riders meeting at 9:15 so that we can get the poker run started on time. We will be signing up riders in groups Friday night and Saturday morning and then will release groups at different times. Get with you friends and sign up in one group if you want to. You will receive your map for the poker run Saturday morning at the meeting so you need to be there with your ski in the water ready to go. After the poker run make sure you take time to visit the vendors as well as take a spin on the many watercraft that will be there to try out. We will set up the slalom course as quickly as possible around 2pm so be ready to sign up for that event on the beach around 1:30. Everyone please find time to eat dinner before the big event Saturday night where we will award the prizes for the poker run, raffle and silent auction winners. All of that starts at 7pm and we need everyone there for the prizes.

Sunday we will have organized rides, demo rides and vendors so hang around and enjoy the activities. Please sign up for the Sunday ride of your choice Friday or Saturday. We hope everyone comes with a mindset to have fun at the event and shows us a little patience when things don't go just as planned, we are doing all of this for you and the charity.

Thank you everyone for your support and see you out there.

Ken

The event itinerary is now included on the website www jetskibash.com

We have sold over 70 tickets for the poker run already and are still selling more. Still getting prizes and businesses for the event. I am looking for a cornhole company that wants to help out and a vehicle wrap company that wants to be a part of the event in some way. We have a few other opportunities for companies to be able to get your products in front of a good group of individuals with one desire. If you haven't already bought a chance at the grand prize go to www.jetskibash.com

The hotel where you're having this used to be the Holiday Inn Sunspree, right? I've been to a couple great jetski events there, beautiful spot!
