I'm about to try and replace a fuel level sensor on my 2005 GTX Wake.

How do I release the fuel pressure before removing the fuel pump? I don't have a B.U.D.S system to release the fuel pressure, so is there another way to do this safely?

The shop manual provides the following:

Fuel Pump
Open front storage compartment cover.
Remove the storage basket (if so equipped).
Remove front access panel (see HULL/BODY section).
Remove front vent tubes.
Remove glove box (see HULL/BODY section).
Disconnect electrical connector.
Disconnect vent tube from fuel pump.
Release the fuel pressure in the system using
B.U.D.S. Look in the Activation tab.
Disconnect inlet hose from fuel pump.
Fromglove box opening, remove fuel pump retaining
nuts.
