I have no idea who these guys are, just found them online, give them a call I guess.

I thought for sure GP had access to some A/M fuel pump for the DI?

Ok, definitely the fuel pump. I removed it yesterday and inspected. There was what looked like pieces of cork gasket in the bottom of the fuel pickup tube. I cleaned everything out with compressed air (fuel line through the filter and through the pump, checked for trash in the pickup socks, etc. Once I reassembled everything, I could hear the pump spin but it wouldn't prime. I took it apart and put it back together two additional times to make sure that it was aligned properly in the bottom of the fuel pickup but still no prime.

This is one damn elusive pump. The model on the side is E1067 but the real Airtex model is E11002. That won't help much because the pump has been listed as "obsolete - out of production" in all sources that I could find. I don't want to pay $600+ for a whole damn assembly when the only part I need is the $150-180 pump! Can anyone out there tell me what replaces an E11002 pump? Here's a link to a picture.

I don't know where but somebody has to be selling this thing! The replacement filters would be nice too but I'm willing to work with what I have.

I seem to have a similar problem on my RX-DI. let me know what you find.

Ok, swapped rectifiers. Then, swapped the batteries with the same result. My battery was a couple years old. The one I put in was a higher quality sealed battery that was purchased a couple of months ago. I did notice something during water testing, when I got close to 5k RPM, the ski would stumble and go into limp mode, only displaying a maint warning, not a 12v low or anything else. I'm thinking there's a stuck RAVE valve. I'm just not sure if the system monitors the RAVE positions or the exhaust restriction they would create. The stuck RAVE would explain why I'm not seeing the maint warning when I'm on the hose. I won't get a chance to lay hands on my ski until next weekend and I really don't want to wrench all weekend. So, I'm hoping to have a plan of attack come Saturday morning. Any ideas?

Thanks again,
Jeff

sounds like a good testing plan to me. I'd also move that unit to a cooler spot

Hello to all of the long time .netters out there! I'm still alive, contrary to errant rumors, lol! I've still got my old 02 GTX RFI and my old 03 RXDI. The 02 has about 300 hours and still runs like new. Same for the 03 at about 200 hours now. However...I got a low voltage warning and went into limp mode the other day. I know the battery is decent, so I figured it was the rectifier. I needed it like NOW, so I went to the local dealer and paid more than what I would call retail for a new one. Plans changed and I didn't get to install it, or ride, etc. I got to thinking, I'll just take the rectifier off my 02 (they're the same) and test it on my 03. Well, turns out that I can't get the error while on the hose. I did take an idling voltage at the battery for both rectifiers. The original reads about 13.8 - 13.9 volts while idling. The one from my 02 reads about 14.5 - 14.9 volts while idling. So, my question is, could one volt be the difference that causes the warning? Especially when it's still over 12v?

I don't want to break the seal on this new rectifier until I know it will fix my problem.

I'm thinking of leaving my 02 rectifier on my 03 ski and putting the one from the 03 onto the 02 because the 02 is so easy to get to, right on top of the rear electrical box. That way, I can take the skis out for a water test (or with the whole fam damly) and switch the new one out with the bad one very quickly right on the water. The one on my 03 is BEHIND the MPEM in the front storage which means you have to lay over into the front and work blind go get it out. The funny thing is, the 02 shop manual shows the rectifier mounted on the left side of the MPEM facing the rear of the ski. There's mounting spot for it on my ski in the rear facing position and I'm thinking about putting it there. I don't know what SD was thinking putting it behind the MPEM. I can't see any good reason other than screwing with people (techs and DIYers alike).

Anywho, thanks in advance for any advice. PPG is still the only place I recommend for advice and parts when anyone asks.

Cheers!
Jeff
