Lug,

We got out onto Grand Traverse Bay around 3:30 pm on Thursday ... I figured you guys had probably hit the beach after making quick work of the days ride earlier. Probably missed the group by about 30 - 60 minutes. Glad the storms held off on Saturday, at least they did further north of Ludington. Great job with the fund raising for Leader Dogs. I keep dreaming about the old days.

It was a great Grand Tour this year, rough enough to make it a challenge, but some smooth time to let 'em rip! Thanks again to everyone who pitched in, with your help I turned in $850 to The Leader Dog Organization, and the group as a whole gave a check for $16,000 to the cause! Way to go, everybody! Next year, we hope to get some more riders joining us, so if you're up for a real challenge, great friends, and a very worthy cause, we would love to have you join us!
Thanks Again!

Jon and Tom, got your checks. Wow, Thank You!! I know times are tough for all of us these days, but the donations you guys made will make a positive difference for someone without sight, way to go!

Thanks Jon! Hope we can get a date for Coopstock that we all can make!

Heading down for the dinner tonight and then most likely going to hit the mangroves, just like you, aboard the stand up.

The check is in the mail, Mark. If I don't see you before then, be safe and have fun.

Haven't heard, guessing around 20 of the Old Guard, but I think I recruited a Rookie at the Ohio Freedom ride. I don't know why I assumed you weren't going to SWFSSF, I had it confused with Traverse for some strange reason. If ya join those crazies, give 'em my best, please!

I might see you on your way in on Thursday late afternoon or early evening, pending on your progression. How many are expected this year? Any word ?

 lugnut posted: 7/23/2010 4:08:55 PM

Thanks Bud! Our first port is Traverse City on Thursday night, we'll be pulling out 00:dark thirty before you get there Friday morning. :( Obviously you won't be dooing SWFSSF this year, hope Bonnie doesn't mess 'em up too bad, it's a helluva good gathering. Thanks again, Tom!

Lug,

I'll be sending you a check for your efforts in this worth while cause. Same as last year.

For everyone this reads this thread here on sea-doo.net ... This is one of the best PWC charity rides out there. And the donations go to a great non-profit organization, Leader Dogs for the Blind.

Jon, we'll miss you guys at the ride, but Thanks for the Donation! Be Well, Dude.

Mark, I don't think we'll see you at the Freedom Ride due to what I'll call "scheduling conflicts", but I'll send you a check. This is a very worthwhile cause and I'm glad you're giving us an opportunity to be a part of it, granted my part will be much smaller than yours. Thanks!

Hello Friends!
I am once again riding in The Grand Tour to Benefit Leader Dogs for the Blind, and am asking for your help in my fundraising efforts. This is a 350 mile ride from Mackinaw City, MI, to Holland, MI, over three days beginning August 12th. We usually have a group of twenty or so 'skis on this ride on beautiful (but chilly!) Lake Michigan, and this will be the 13th year (my 10th) for the event. We should easily break $200,000 raised for Leader Dogs over the years on this Tour! Each rider must raise at least $500 to participate. Last year I brought Leader Dogs over $1,100, and would certainly love to surpass that this year! Each rider also has to cover their own fuel, food, and hotel costs, and none of your contributions will be used for that purpose. To make a donation (tax deductable!), send a check made out to Grand Tour for Leader Dogs to;
Mark Luxnat
5333 W Lacross Dr
Bloomington, IN 47404
I'll also be at the Ohio Freedom Ride July 10th, some of you will see me there. A Big Thank You to Glen for okaying my posting here! More info on the Ride can be found here: grandtour.sitedevelopers.com/ ,
and you can email me here: mluxnat(at)indiana(dot)edu.
Thanks Everyone!
Mark Luxnat aka Lugnut
