Just wanted to drop a quick not. Our 4th Annual Operation Helping Hero's Freedom Ride begins tomorrow at sunrise, for those who still wish to participate you can come down to the 1 day ride to Washington D.C. on Saturday July 17. You can register/donate on line until 8:00 p,m. this evening or you can register tomorrow at the park from 8 to 9:15 a.m.

If you can't make it and would like to still help this great charity please go to our website at www.easternpariverrunners.org and donate on the First Giving widget.

I would like to especially thank Geln, Connie and Rob for all their generosity, help and consideration. The ride for my wife and I would not be possible if not for them and the entire Perry Performance Team. My many thanks go out to all of them, they are a wonderful group of people.

Thanks For All Your Support!!!

Thanks Jeff for the heads up. We have another person we are looking into but I am not holding my breath, so hopefully we can get someone else to step up and give us a hand.

I hope everything works out for you as well and you get things running the right way.

Thanks Again

Stephanie, it isn't looking good, the truck is way down on power and the check engine light is on with several fault codes :(

I doubt I'll be able to tow the boat back to PA from Fl., it really struggled through West Virginia - fully loaded we are at close to 11,500# and I don't think I want to strain it towing back up through the mountains.
I need to go back into the engine and can't do that here. I'm so sorry and hope someone else can step up and help.

Jeff

Sorry to hear you can't make it again this year but hopefully next year, JJ I will wait to hear from you towards the end of the month. I am sure all the work you put into the truck and boat will turn out well for you. Can't wait to hear about your trip.

Thanks again for all of your help and also for keeping us in the loop.

I'm sorry I can't make this ride again this year. I will be sending in a donation again this year. Maybe next year I will get over to meet you all.

Truck is together, I will test out boat and truck the week of June 20-26.

So, I can let you know by the 28th or so if it is still all ok and a go.

PS. I love just doing a ton of motor work, minimal testing, strap a boat to it and tow it 2000+ miles - NOT! Wish me luck.

The Eastern PA River Runners

2010 Operation Helping Hero’s Freedom Ride

July 16th, 17th, and 18th 2010

The Eastern PA River Runners, a local charter club of The American Watercraft Association, along with The Perry Performance Group out of Dania Beach, FL. are proud to team with The Family & Friends For Freedom Fund Inc., to raise money for this wonderful organization that aids in the recovery of our combat wounded Marines and servicemen and women from other branches of the armed forces recovering at both Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Medical Center. The 4th Annual Operation Helping Hero’s Freedom Ride will commence with the hopes and dreams of America’s hero’s riding with us. We will set out on a journey of approximately 400 miles round trip in 3 days on personal watercraft. The journey will take the following route:

First Day at Sunrise – Friday July 16th: Depart from Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, MD and head down the Chesapeake Bay turning up the Potomac River to Quantico Marine Corps base in Quantico, VA. for a layover that evening.

Morning of the Second Day – Saturday July 17th : Continue up the Potomac River to Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge, VA. where they will meet up with 100 or so personal watercraft riders from around the area. The group will then travel to Washington D.C. in the hopes of raising awareness within the community and the government to the much needed help and care of America’s combat wounded Marines and servicemen and women from all branches of the armed forces. The group will then return and go to Tim’s River Shore Restaurant for lunch and a great afternoon of fun, entertainment and festivities before returning to the Marine Corps Base for the evening.

Morning of the Last Day – Sunday July 18th: The River Runners will depart from Quantico Marine Corps Base and begin their trip back to Sandy Point State Park along the same path that they arrived.

What we are in search of on this ride is the support by presence of every personal watercraft club, rider and enthusiast in and around the surrounding area as well as those who wish to travel to ride for this great cause, to join us on Saturday July 17th at Leesylvania State Park at 10:00 am for a ride to Washington D.C. to raise “Awareness by Presence” and then head back to Tim’s River Shore Restaurant for a great time.

Check in time for the ride on Saturday July 17th begins at 8:00 am until 9:20am at the launch ramp area to the left of the main pavilion (if facing the Potomac River) where the sailboat hoists are located. There will be a riders meeting at 9:30 am and we will depart for Washington D.C. at 10:00am promptly. Please contact us at info@easternpariverrunners.org if you are planning on attending. Leave your name, contact information and how many will be in attendance, so that we may have a head count.

If you and your family believe and are thankful for the freedom we have, then please help those who have fought and suffered to bring us that freedom. As well as dedicating their lives to trying to free other countries. Do your part in whatever way you can to help The Family & Friends For Freedom Fund Inc. assist the fine servicemen and women who have fought with bravery for your right to live in the home of the FREE and the BRAVE.

All those who wish to participate in either the entire 3-day event, July 16,17 and 18 or the one-day only ride July 17 are required to pre-register by July 4, 2010. There will be a $25.00 registration donation per personal watercraft that will go directly to the charity organization.

For more information on the ride, how to pre-register, or how you can help please contact the Eastern PA River Runners at info@easternpariverrunners.org or you can contact The Family & Friends For Freedom Fund Inc. at www.injuredmarinesfund.org

Thank You

We are a little more than a month away from the Freedom Ride, if you are planning on attending now is the time to register!

Watts has worked hard all year to put this ride in place and get the sponsors that we have. Let's make this a HUGE event and support our club and more importantly our wounded heroes.

This weekend I will be putting up a new tab on the website with all information regarding the raffle. Please take the time to look and help sell tickets, all proceeds will go directly to The Family & Friends For Freedom Fund.
