Hi Glen et al.
I recently purchased a used Sea-Doo XP
It ran great all last year
I stored it for the winter as per instructions
When I launched it this year it immediately started to fill with water
Is there a drain plug or raw water system that could be the problem
Could I repair it myself as there are no Sea-Doo dealers near me

hook it up to the flush and run it. look at all the cooling lines and the pipe plugs. also check for leakage at the pipe to manifold gasket.

if you get nothing there. tip the ski nose up on the trailer, put the drain plugs in and fill the hull with water. (JUST OVER THE DRIVE SHAFT BOOT ASSEMBLY.) and look to see where the water drips out from. could be the exhaust outlet nut, could be carbon ring or thru hull fitting.

Another thought, is the water in the hull hot or the water temp? If its hot/warm its from the exhaust. I had a leak and couldn't figure it out as well but the water was hot so I knew it was an exhaust leak and it was leaking from the freeze plug on the bottom of the exhaust. Tr

I agree. Tie it off to the dock, put it in neutral and start it up with the seat off. All three of the '96 GTX's that I have had, had a hole in one of the freeze plugs on the purple pipe. A bit of JB weld and they have been good for several years.

I would take the back seat off and the plastic pto cover and run it while looking to see if it's leaking from there.

I replaced the drain plug gaskets and greased the drive shaft. When I pulled back the rubber corregated boot it took on water. The drive shaft is loose in that area. It slightly wabbles back and forth. Could the fix simply be replace the O rings or do I need to replace the bearings? Are either of these tough jobs? Special tools required? Your help is appreciated.

Depending on how much is coming in, it could it is probably coming from the carbon seal. When was the last time you greased the driveshaft? Grease the driveshaft and chances are your problem will be solved.

Have you checked the o-rings on the drain plugs?

GTX is slowly taking on water. I tightened every bolt and cannot see where the water comes in. Any ideas? Any items to check?
